Roundup: Josh Rosen likely out for the season

According to multiple reports linked here by USA TODAY Sports, UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen is likely out for the year with a shoulder injury, but Jim Mora hasn’t completely ruled out his return. It has just gone from bad to worse this year for the Bruins.

Bit of a shocker to many in the media, as Washington was ranked No. 5 in the initial College Football Playoff Top 25. Many had the Dawgs slotted in the top four before Tuesday, but they still appear to be in a good position to head to the CFP if they win out.

Graham Watson of Yahoo Sports tells us that Clay Helton has granted Max Browne permission to transfer to a Pac-12 school if he so chooses, the USC head coach confirmed Tuesday night. Browne started the season as the starting QB in Troy before being supplanted by Sam Darnold.

Arizona men’s basketball blasted away College of Idaho in an exhibition game Tuesday night, but the bigger news is that Ray Smith injured his leg, and Miller did not sound optimistic postgame about Smith’s injury. Add that on to Chance Comanche being suspended indefinitely and Allonzo Trier in street clothes for the exhibition game, and it has been a rough start to the season for the ‘Cats.

Oregon’s Chris Boucher is on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s college basketball preview issue, as Luke Winn documents Boucher’s different route to the D1 scene.

Washington State quarterback Luke Falk was named a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, which goes to the country’s best senior or fourth-year quarterback.
