As there is any time someone leads a once-dormant program to the top of the national conversation, there have been rumors swirling around that Mike MacIntyre is a candidate for other head coaching jobs. However, Kyle Bonagura reports that Colorado AD Rick George expects MacIntyre to stay in Boulder.
Former USC star and NFL player Joe McKnight was shot and killed at an intersection in a New Orleans suburb Thursday afternoon. McKnight, 28, played in the NFL for the Jets and Chiefs and also played in the CFL.
Former Oregon offensive coordinator and current UCF head coach Scott Frost told reporters that he’s not in the running for the Oregon head coaching vacancy and that he’s fine with where he’s at in Orlando (Chantel Jennings on the link).
The NCAA Women’s Volleyball Tournament began Thursday night, and No. 25 Washington State advanced to the second round with a 3-1 win over Marquette in Madison, Wisconsin. Up next for the Cougs are the No. 3-ranked Badgers. Oregon is also on to the round of 32 after a Thursday night triumph.
Larry Krystkowiak got his 100th win at Utah after the Runnin’ Utes defeated Montana State 92-84, and here’s the Pac-12 Networks recap. Kyle Kuzma was one dime shy of a triple-double.
Cal men’s water polo advanced to the NCAA Semifinals after beating Pomona-Pitzer 16-6 Thursday night at Spieker Aquatics Complex in Berkeley. Up next for the Golden Bears is a date with No. 2 UCLA Saturday night at 5:12 p.m., and not a moment sooner or later (your boy on the call for the semis; The Professor Greg Mescall has you for the finals).

Nick Daschel of The Oregonian/OregonLive lets us know that former Beaver Tim Camp has Eastern Oregon on the brink of an NAIA national championship. Camp, EOU’s head coach, has the Mountaineers in the semifinals against Baker (a school in Kansas).
