Las Vegas Classic MVP Jordan McLaughlin collects Pac-12 weekly award

Pac-12 Men's Basketball Player of the Week (12/26/16) - Jordan McLaughlin, Jr., G, USC

Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year award nominee Jordan McLaughlin earned his first career Pac-12 Player of the Week award in voting conducted by media who cover the league.

• The 6-1 junior guard from Etiwanda, Calif., averaged 19.0 points, 6.3 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals in the nationally ranked Trojans' three victories last week. He was named MVP of the Las Vegas Classic after leading USC to the event title and one of six undefeated non-conference records (13-0) in NCAA Division I so far this season.

• McLaughlin capped off his MVP performance with 22 points, including the Classic-clinching driving layup with 4.5 seconds left in overtime, along with seven rebounds, five assists and two steals in USC's 94-92 triumph against Wyoming on Friday. His weekly stat line also featured 39.0 minutes per game, a perfect 11-for-11 clip at the foul line, and a 4.8 assist-to-turnover ratio (19:4).

McLaughlin concluded non-conference play ranked second in the Pac-12 in minutes played (34.2 mpg) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.8), third in assists (5.2 apg) and 14th in scoring (14.7 ppg). He was one of only two guards (D. White, COLO) to appear in the top 15 in the league in both scoring and field goal percentage (15th, .519).
