Pac-12 announces the women's tennis player of the week

THIS WEEK: Karla Popovic, California
• Ranked 23rd in the nation in singles, Popovic improved her record to 27-1 on the season by upsetting the second-ranked Ena Shibahara in Cal's 6-1 win over UCLA on Feb. 24 in Berkeley.
• 
She then defeated USC's 33rd-ranked Gabby Smith in Cal's 6-1 win over the Trojans the next day.
• 
Popovic beat Shibahara, 6-3, 6-3, and beat Smith, 7-6(5), 6-1.
• 
She also paired with Olivia Hauger to win in doubles in both matches.
• 
Playing at court-two doubles, the 50th-ranked Cal duo beat UCLA's Alaina Miller and Terri Fleming, 6-1, and then upset USC's 45th-ranked pair of Rianna Valdes and Jessica Failla, 7-6(3), to clinch the doubles point against the Trojans.
• This is Popovic's second nod in her career, and California's 38th all-time.
