Roundup: Allonzo Trier returning to Arizona

Big – Allonzo Trier will return to the Arizona men’s basketball team for next season, ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reports. Great news for the Wildcats.


The WNBA Draft is Thursday afternoon (4 p.m. PT, ESPN2), and Michelle Voepel of ESPN tells us that Washington’s Kelsey Plum is the likely No. 1 pick of the draft. Her teammate Chantel Osahor is a probable first-rounder as well.

Kelly Graves keeps on hauling in the big fish, as Oregon women’s basketball inked Anneli Maley, a 6-foot-2 guard from Australia who is a big-time international recruit (The Oregonian/OregonLive).


Meanwhile, Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times notes that 6-foot-8 forward Chris Smith signed a letter of intent with UCLA men’s basketball, only bolstering a class that is ranked second in the nation and features LiAngelo Ball (Lonzo’s younger brother).


Cal men’s golfer Collin Morikawa was named a Ben Hogan Award semifinalist, it was announced Wednesday. Other semifinalists from the Pac-12 are USC’s Sean Crocker, Arizona State’s Jared du Toit, Stanford’s Maverick McNealy and Oregon’s Wyndham Clark.
