Roundup: National titles for USC beach volleyball and Cal rugby

USC beach volleyball won the NCAA title by knocking off Pepperdine 3-2 in a hotly-contested championship match. It’s the second straight NCAA title and third consecutive natty for the Trojans.

California

Cal rugby repeated as Varsity Cup national champions, defeating Arkansas State 43-13. It’s the 28th in program history.

Arizona

Arizona softball won the Pac-12 title by beating UCLA 7-2 Sunday. It’s the first conference title for the ‘Cats since 2007 (highlights).

Colorado

Colorado women’s lacrosse earned its first NCAA Tournament bid and will face Massachusetts in a first-round game on Friday in Philadelphia. USC also made the tourney from the MPSF/soon-to-be-Pac-12.

UCLA

UCLA hoopers Ike Anigbogu, TJ Leaf and Thomas Welsh will participate in the NBA Draft Combine this week in Chicago (May 9-14). Lonzo Ball was invited to the combine but elected to not participate.
