Ben Cohen of the Wall Street Journal believes that Isaiah Thomas is the "most surprising star in NBA history" given where he was drafted (last). The four guys who were selected immediately in front of him in 2011 have never played in the NBA.

Oregon softball’s Jenna Lilley and Maggie Balint were named Pac-12 Player of the Week (Lilley) and Pac-12 Freshman and Pitcher of the Week (Balint) for their efforts in leading the Ducks to a sweep of No. 2 Florida State.

Arizona State

This was baseball, not football – Arizona State upset No. 13 Arizona 14-13 Tuesday night in Tucson, led by four-RBI games from Carter Aldrete and Tyler Williams.

And there was a wild one in Provo as well, as Utah baseball outlasted BYU 7-6 in 13 innings thanks to Josh Rose’s game-winning sacrifice fly.

Washington State

Sweet – Washington State is No. 22 in Sports Illutrated’s “way too early” college football top 25 for the 2017 season.

Arizona

Zack Rosenblatt of the Arizona Daily Star writes that Arizona softball “gets some time to breathe” before the NCAA tournament. The Wildcats wrapped up the Pac-12 title Sunday and have a bye this weekend before regional play starts up the following weekend.
