Roundup: Royce Freeman, Troy Dye on first batch of 2017 award watch lists

Oregon running back Royce Freeman and linebacker Troy Dye are preseason national player of the year candidates, with Freeman on the Maxwell Award watch list and Dye on the Chuck Bednarik Award watch list.

Former USC quarterback Todd Marinovich will play for the SoCal Coyotes of the World Developmental Football League (ABC). Best of luck to Marinovich, 48, on his comeback route.

Here’s a GoStanford.com recap of Oscar da Silva’s play at the FIBA Under 19 World Cup. The incoming men’s basketball frosh averaged 10.3 points and 4.0 rebounds for Germany.
