Roundup: Oregon's Royce Freeman nearing Pac-12 record

Oregon running back Royce Freeman is nearing the Pac-12 rushing touchdowns record, currently held by Oregon State’s Ken Simonton (59). Freeman is currently tied with former Duck LaMichael James with 53 rushing scores. Provided he stays healthy, Freeman is probably breaking the record (The Statesman Journal).

Washington State

Washington State linebacker Peyton Pelluer is out for the season with a broken foot, an injury he suffered in the win over Oregon State (Associated Press via The Lewiston Tribune and The Seattle Times).

Oregon State

Danny Moran reports that Oregon State quarterback Jake Luton has been diagnosed with a thoracic spine fracture, and the school said that Luton is “week-to-week” as far as his recovery is concerned.


Former Ute Andrew Bogut agreed to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers worth $2.3 million, reports Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.


Colorado’s Alexa Smith was named Pac-12 Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week after registering 41 kills in a 3-0 weekend for the Buffs that got them into the AVCA Top 25 at No. 25.


Bruce Pascoe notes that Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook slotted Arizona No. 1 in its preseason rankings. A lot of hype around this Wildcat bunch for 2017-18.


Luke Easterling of USA Today’s Draft Wire has UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen going first overall in his 2018 NFL mock draft, with Sam Darnold right behind him at No. 2.


Kyle Bonagura features USC kicker Chase McGrath, aka “the guy who saved USC’s season” in Bonagura’s words. The freshman probably won’t be a walk-on for long.
