NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament: More heroics from UCLA's Anika Rodriguez; Stanford also advances

Stanford and UCLA advanced to the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament Elite 8 on Sunday while Washington State's postseason surge came to an end. Details:

UCLA 2 - Virginia 1

Anika Rodriguez's November to remember continues.

The redshirt sophomore scored in the Bruins' home finale vs. USC on November 3rd, and had the golden goal in UCLA's NCAA Tournament second-round defeat of Northwestern this past Friday night.

On Sunday, Rodriguez made another memory, drilling a cross from Ashley Sanchez past Virginia's keeper with 88:43 off the clock in regulation. The score held up for a 2-1 UCLA win. That moment:

The Bruins, now 18-2-2, advance to the Elite 8 where they'll host Princeton on Saturday 5:30 p.m./6:30 p.m.MT at Drake.

Stanford 1- Florida State 0

Jordan DiBiasi's fifth game-winning goal of the season sent top-seeded Stanford past Florida State 1-0 Sunday on The Farm, in round three of the NCAA Tournament. That moment:

Florida 1 - Washington State 0 (2 OT)

Washington State lost 1-0 to Florida in the NCAA women's soccer tournament third round on Sunday in Gainesville, Florida.

Deanne Rose's golden goal in double overtime ended the Cougars' impressive postseason run which included a first-round upset of No. 2 seed UCF, and Friday's triumph over Tennessee. Sunday marked the Cougars' first appearance in the NCAA third round in program history.
