Nov 25, 2017

SAN FRANCISCO— The STANFORD Cardinal will represent the Pac-12 North Division in the seventh annual Pac-12 Football Championship Game on Friday, December 1, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

Stanford (7-2 in Pac-12 North, 9-3 overall) is set to face South Division champion USC (8-1 in Pac-12 South, 10-2 overall). The Cardinal, who already concluded conference play, entered the final weekend of the regular season needing a victory by Washington over Washington State in the Apple Cup to secure its spot in the Pac-12 Football Championship Game. The Huskies delivered for the Cardinal with a 41-14 victory over Washington State. Stanford finished tied with Washington atop the North Division standings with 7-2 records in conference play. However, based on the Conference’s tie-breaker, Stanford defeated Washington in their head-to-head matchup, a 33-20 Cardinal victory at Stanford on Fri., Nov. 10, and earned the right to represent the North Division.

USC, currently No. 11 in the CFP rankings, captured its second South Division title in three years. Stanford, No. 21 in the CFP rankings, will be making its fourth appearance in the Pac-12 Championship Game. The Cardinal is 3-0 in the league’s title game, leading the North Division to a perfect 6-0 record over the South Division.

The Pac-12 Championship Game will be televised by ESPN at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET.
