Oregon AD Rob Mullens has been named the College Football Playoff Selection Committee chair, it was announced Wednesday.

After a very discouraging start to the season at least partly due to injuries, Stanford continued its mid-season turnaround by beating No. 16 Arizona State at home Wednesday night (NBC Sports). The Cardinal is 5-1 in conference play, having won five straight league games for the first time since 2008 and are tied for first with Arizona (Stanford and Arizona play on Saturday).
