Roundup: Chip Kelly finalizes UCLA coaching staff

UCLA football coach Chip Kelly added three assistants to finalize his staff on Tuesday – Dana Bible is the quarterbacks coach, Roy Manning will coach special teams and outside linebackers and Vince Oghobaase will coach the defensive line (Associated Press).

Washington State

Former Washington State quarterback Luke Falk spoke about suicide at Senior Bowl media day on Tuesday, and Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports has an article on his comments in the preceding link.


Darren Rovell of ESPN reports that Rashaan Salaam’s Heisman Trophy was auctioned for $399,608 on Saturday night. The auction raised money for medical research related to CTE in Salaam’s memory.

Oregon State baseball infielder Nick Madrigal was named a preseason first-team All-American by on Tuesday (The Oregonian/OregonLive). Madrigal hit .380 with four homers and 40 RBI in an All-American 2017 campaign.
