Pac-12 Announces Gymnasts of the Week; Utah’s Skinner Nabs Record 10th

GYMNAST OF THE WEEK: MyKayla Skinner, SO, Utah (Gilbert, Ariz.)

•  Claimed third Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week honor this season, the 10th of her career, surpassing the Pac-12 record of nine which was previously set by UCLA’s Vanessa Zamarripa (2009-13). 
•  Won all four events and the all-around in the No. 3 Utes’ 197.075-195.400 victory over No. 17 Arizona State last week. Scored a season-high 9.950 on floor, a 9.925 on bars, 9.900 on vault and beam, and a 39.675 in the all-around to raise her season victory total to 17 and career total to 60. 
•  Her 16 career all-around wins ranks fourth in Utah school history in the event.
•  Currently ranked No. 2 in the nation in the all-around (39.596), tied for fourth on vault (9.917), and tied for the #5 spot in the nation on bars (9.908).
 
SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK: Napualani Hall, SR, UCLA (Kansas City, Mo.)

•  Earned first vault title of her career with a career-high-tying 9.950, sticking her laid-out Yurchenko 1.5 for the third-straight meet.
• Led the Bruins to a 197.750-197.225 win over Cal, taking home titles in two events; the most event wins by a Bruin in the meet. 
• Recorded a career-high 9.900 on floor exercise in her season debut in the event, tying for first place in the meet.
• Ranked in the top 25 in the nation for the first time this season, placing No. 11 (tie) for her debut performance on floor.
 
FRESHMAN / NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK: Kyla Bryant, FR, Stanford (Lake Oconee, Georgia)

• Won first all-around title of her career with a score of 39.400 in No. 25 Stanford’s 195.725-195.025 loss to No. 24 Arizona on Sunday. 
• Also finished second on bars (9.825), tied for second on floor (9.850) and tied for fifth on vault (9.850) in the meet.
• Her 9.875 on balance beam, which matched teammates’ Rachael Flam and Lauren Navarro’s efforts, helped the Cardinal post a season-high 49.325 in the event.
• Led Stanford’s squad in scoring on bars, beam, and in the all-around against the Cats.
