UCLA

Read the Los Angeles Daily News’ Mark Whicker’s column on UCLA’s First Four loss to St. Bonaventure, as the Bruins turned the ball over 20 times in a 65-58 loss to Bonnies.

Washington State

June Daugherty is out as women’s basketball head coach at Washington State, AD Patrick Chun announced Tuesday. Daugherty, who took a medical leave of absence in January, went 130-218 in 11 seasons at the helm.

USC

USC men’s basketball junior Chimezie Metu will sit out the NIT so he won’t risk an injury leading up to the NBA Draft, USC announced Tuesday night before outlasting UNC Asheville in a double-overtime thriller in the first round of the NIT.

Colorado

Tory Miller-Stewart is leaving the Colorado men’s basketball program and will pursue an opportunity as a graduate transfer elsewhere next season (BuffZone.com).

Oregon

Victor Bailey Jr. scored a career-high 23 points to lead Oregon men’s basketball to a 99-86 win over Rider in the first round of the NIT Tuesday night in Eugene (The Oregonian/OregonLive). Gotta love a four-quarter game, which is what men’s college basketball is experimenting with in the NIT this year. They did this with a 30-second shot clock a few years back and adopted it, so hopefully the same thing happens here.

Stanford

Tom FitzGerald previews Stanford’s first round NIT matchup with BYU (Wednesday night at 7 p.m. PT on ESPNU), a team it has lost to six of the last eight times they’ve squared up on the hardwood.

Utah

Meanwhile, Lynn Worthy gives us this preview of Utah’s first round game against UC Davis Wednesday night in Salt Lake City (6 p.m. PT/7 p.m. MT, WatchESPN).

Washington

Percy Allen details Noah Dickerson’s path from fat jokes to first team all-Pac-12 honors for Washington men’s basketball. Dickerson has taken more than just a ribbing for his weight, so he dropped 22 pounds over the summer and has had a heck of a 2017-18 season so far.

Arizona

Sports Illustrated has Deandre Ayton going No. 1 overall in its latest 2018 Mock NBA Draft. Ayton and the Wildcats open up their Big Dance with Buffalo Thursday night.

California

Rusty Simmons features Cal swimmer Kathleen Baker, who racked up two Olympic medals and won a pair of Pac-12 titles despite being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease eight years ago.

Oregon State

Oregon State baseball feels like it must improve as it enters Pac-12 play, writes Ron Richmond for The Oregonian/OregonLive. The Beavers are 15-1 overall and No. 1 in the country.
