Buffs Earn USTFCCCA Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS — The University of Colorado track and field team placed 13 individuals, 11 women and two men, on the USTFCCCA All-Academic team. Both teams also earned All-Academic team status.
Adam Peterman and Ben Saarel earned the honor on the men's side, while the women named to the team include: Kaitlyn Benner, Erin Clark, Elisa Grandemange, Eriana Henderson, Sage Hurta, Makena Morley, Melanie Nun, Gabby Scott, Valerie Welch, Michaela Wenning and Maja Wichhart-Donzo.
Individual athletes must have a GPA of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
To qualify for the team award, the squad must have a team cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better. CU's women recorded a 3.33 GPA and the men totaled a 3.005 GPA.
