Oregon football is teaming up with Marcus Mariota and the Motiv8 Foundation to help raise money for people in Hawaii who have been affected by Hurricane Lane. Information on how to donate can be found in the link above or by going to

Former UCLA and Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Hundley has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for an undisclosed 2019 draft pick (NBC Sports).

Cal's new placekicker, Greg Thomas, bounced from Zane Gonzalez's backup at ASU to City College obscurity into the Memorial Stadium spotlight. The San Francisco Chronicle's Rusty Simmons has the feature on Thomas' journey to Cal.

Arizona State

If you have a lot of free time today (like, maybe read this on your lunch break if you’re eating alone today; it’s going to take a while), then I suggest reading this first-hand account of the expansion of the Pac-8 to include Arizona and Arizona State written by former UCLA Assistant Chancellor John Sandbrook and provided to us by Jon Wilner’s Pac-12 Hotline. It’s the 40th anniversary of the Arizona schools joining the conference, hence this piece.

Former Arizona quarterback Brandon Dawkins has left the Indiana football program after losing the starting quarterback competition to Peyton Ramsey (Indianapolis Star). This time last year, Dawkins was the starting quarterback for Arizona.

Colorado women’s soccer junior Tatum Barton was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week after netting a hat trick in a 6-0 win over Missouri on Saturday.

Was going to post this earlier but held off due to player injury news… Anywho, check out Bryce Love’s article in Sports Illustrated detailing why he returned to Stanford instead of jumping to the NFL after his junior season.

Oregon State

Oregon State offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren says that quarterback Jake Luton had the offense operating at “another level” in practice when describing why Luton won the starting QB gig. Nick Daschel has more in the preceding link on Luton’s camp exploits.

Joey Kaufman writes that USC quarterback JT Daniels is taking the starting role “in stride.” Daniels was named the starting quarterback on Sunday, but many figured he’d win the job all along.

Adam Jude provides us with this Q&A with Washington offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan, who is in his first year in this role. Hamdan, 32, is in his third season on Montlake, returning to UW after spending the 2017 season as quarterbacks coach for the Atlanta Falcons.

Washington State

Getting us ready for Washington State’s opener at Wyoming, Theo Lawson prepares this piece on Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl’s defense. The Cowboys opened their season with a 29-7 win over New Mexico State, keeping the Aggies from getting a first down until the final 20 seconds of the first half.

Please do peep our Utah-Weber State game preview featuring the one and only Yogi Roth on the breakdown. The Utes open their season Thursday night at 5 p.m. PT/6 p.m. MT on Pac-12 Network (against Weber State, of course).
