Payton, who has played in 29 games with the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers over the last two seasons, is likely battling for a 2-way contract (per 2ways10days.com, a leading site for G League coverage, the Trail Blazers have both of their two-way spots open).

Oregon women’s soccer forward Emma Eddy was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week following a three-goal weekend that helped lead the Ducks to wins over Dartmouth and Gonzaga. The junior now has five goals this year.

Kurt Kragthorpe lets us know about the changes on the Utah football radio broadcast team, with former Ute quarterback Scott Mitchell as analyst and former Ute punter Tom Hackett on sideline duties (Bill Riley is still the play-by-play guy).

Adam Jude discusses the Washington defense’s missed opportunities in the loss to Auburn, giving up a couple of third-down conversions on the Tigers’ game-winning touchdown drive in the fourth quarter.

Thuc Nhi Nguyen features UCLA football freshman Christaphany Murray, the team’s starting center. Nugyen notes that Murray is the first true freshman to start at center for UCLA since at least 1982 (that’s when records for such things like this are first available).
