Georgia Tech took home the team title and Bryson Nimmer of Clemson earned the individual trophy at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate on Sunday held at Mirabel Golf Course in Scottsdale, the first event of the 2018-19 @SunDevilMGolf season.

ASU (265-272-277) shot 26-under 814 and finished second behind Georgia Tech's 28-under 812 (265-274-273). Nimmer (67-63-65) shot 15-under 195 to top Chun An Yu's 13-under 197 (65-64-68).

The field included Bushnell Golfweek Preseason Coaches Poll teams Auburn (sixth),  Georgia Tech (seventh), Clemson (13th) and Arizona State (19th).

Freshman Cameron Sisk posted a solid first collegiate tournament as he tied for 12th at 7-under 203 (65-68-70). Junior Blake Wagoner tied for 27th at 2-under 208 (65-70-73).

The Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills, site of the 117th US Open, is where ASU will head for its second tournament Sept. 30-Oct. 2. Marquette has hosted a fall event in each of the last five seasons and at Erin Hills in four of the last five. Stanford (2013), UCLA (2014), SMU (2015), Northwestern (2016) and Texas A&M (2017) are past winners. The event has featured current pros Patrick Rodgers (Stanford/PGA Tour), Bryson DeChambeau (SMU/PGA Tour), Matt Fitzpatrick (Northwestern/PGA Tour/European Tour), Jonathan Garrick (UCLA/Mackenzie Tour) and Jordan Niebrugge (Oklahoma State/Mackenzie Tour). Iowa, Marquette, McNeese State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi, Northwestern, UC Davis, Utah and Wisconsin make up the field.
