STANFORD, Calif. – Senior Oliver Lewis was voted the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week after career-best performances this past weekend.

Lewis totaled 32 saves, including several crucial stops, in two key road victories over No. 5 UC Santa Barbara and No. 10 Pepperdine this past weekend. With the wins, No. 3 Stanford improved to 7-0 on the season with four victories over nationally-ranked opponents.

Lewis recorded key stop after key stop with career-best save totals each match. In Saturday's 9-7 win over UC Santa Barbara, Lewis posted a then-career-best 15 saves and limited the Gauchos to their second-lowest point total this year. Lewis, who stopped a penalty shot as well, came through with a key save in the final minutes as UCSB aggressively tried to get back into it.

In Sunday's 13-7 victory at No. 10 Pepperdine, Lewis topped his previous career-high save total for the second day in a row, recording 17 saves in Stanford's 13-7 victory. The save total was the most by a Cardinal since Drew Holland registered 23 saves against UC Irvine during the 2015 season.

The MPSF weekly honor of Lewis' career and the first for a Cardinal this season.

Stanford begins an 11-match homestand this Saturday when the Cardinal hosts San Jose State at Avery Aquatic Center at 1 p.m. PT.
