Dotson named Pac-12 Player of the Week

CORVALLIS – Oregon State senior Hassani Dotson and freshman Adrian Fernandez both earned weekly honors for their performances in a pair of wins over Stanford and California. Dotson was selected as Pac-12 Player of the Week, while Fernandez was picked to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week.

Dotson was a key piece in both of Oregon State's wins last week, playing all 90 minutes in both matches. The midfielder helped the Beavers earn their first win over No. 10 Stanford since 2011, a 1-0 victory on Thursday. Oregon State followed that up with a 2-1 comeback win over California on Sunday.

A public health major, Dotson has played every minute of the 2018 season for the Beavers. The senior has taken 11 shots this season, and was named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week on Oct. 2.

Fernandez came up big for Oregon State on Thursday, making six saves, including an impressive diving stop in the 88th minute to preserve the win. The goalkeeper, who is majoring in economics, is tied for the Pac-12 lead with 39 saves on the season.

As a team, the Beavers have moved to 7-4-2 on the campaign. Oregon State will head down to California for a road matchup with Stanford on Thursday.
