Beavers Beyond the Classroom Returns to Gill Wednesday

THE GAME: The No. 8 Oregon State women's basketball team will host its annual Beavers Beyond the Classroom game Wednesday, when the Beavers welcome Arkansas-Pine Bluff to Gill Coliseum for an 11 a.m. tip.

WHAT'S COMING UP: Oregon State will host Saint Mary's Saturday at 6 p.m., before hitting the road for the first time this season to be part of next week's Vancouver Showcase. The Beavers will take on Western Kentucky in the opening round of that event.

BEAVERS BEYOND THE CLASSROOM: 
- Oregon State will welcome local elementary and middle schoolers to Wednesday's game as part of its Beavers Beyond the Classroom field trip game.
- Over 40 schools will be represented at this year's event.
- The events has traditionally drawn big crowds in the six years Oregon State has hosted it. Last season's crowd of 8,280 was OSU's highest ever in a field trip game.

OSU VS. UAPB: The Beavers are 1-0 all-time vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff, with their lone meeting coming in 2016. Mikayla Pivec is the only current OSU player to start that game, as she put up seven points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Katie McWilliams also scored seven points in the game, as Oregon State won 73-40.

QUICK HITTERS: 
- Oregon State is 117-23 since the start of the 2014-15 season, the seventh-best record in the nation over that span, trailing only UConn, Notre Dame, Baylor, Maryland, South Carolina and Louisville.
- The Beavers are one of nine teams in the nation to make the Sweet 16 in each of the last three seasons, joining UConn, South Carolina, Notre Dame, Baylor, Stanford, Texas, UCLA and Mississippi State.
- Oregon State has made the NCAA Tournament five-straight seasons, and has 11 NCAA Tournament wins over that span.
- OSU has 75 Pac-12 wins over the last four seasons, joining Stanford as the only teams in conference history to accomplish that feat.
- The Beavers' four highest win totals have all come over the last four seasons (27 in 2014-15, 32 in 2015-16, 31 in 2016-17, 26 in 2017-18).
- The Beavers have been ranked in every USA Today/WBCA Coaches' poll, dating back to the 2013-14 postseason rankings. Oregon State is one of six teams in the nation to be ranked every week over that period, joining UConn, Notre Dame, Baylor, Maryland and South Carolina.
- Oregon State remains at No. 8 in the AP Poll this week.
- OSU's highest ever ranking came at the end of the 2015-16 campaign, when the Beavers came in at No. 2.

- The Beavers have earned nine wins over top-10 opponents since the start of 2014-15.

- Oregon State is one of seven teams to have four players selected over the course of the last three WNBA Drafts, and is one of two programs to have players picked in the first round of the last two drafts.
- The Beavers led the nation in 3-point percentage last season.
- Oregon State joined UConn and Baylor as the only teams to finish last season in the top-10 nationally in both field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense.
- The Beavers open the 2018-19 season selected to finish third in the Pac-12 in both the conference's coaches poll, and media poll.
- Oregon State posted a perfect Academic Progress Rate of 1,000 over the last ratings period. The Beavers have had a perfect APR over the last three years, joining Stanford as the only teams in the conference to accomplish that feat.

- Redshirted the 2017-18 season due to NCAA transfer rules
- Made her Oregon State debut Friday, putting up 15 points and eight rebounds.
- Was named to the Naismith Trophy Watch List on Monday.
- Is on the Lieberman Award Watch list, which honors the top-20 point guards in the nation, as well as the Wooden Award Watch List as one of the top 30 players in the nation.
- Pac-12 All-Preseason selection
- 2017 WBCA National Freshman of the Year during her debut campaign at Maryland.
- Averaged 11.5 points, and 6.0 assists per game at Maryland.
- Scored 23 points, including 19 in the second half of the Terrapins' matchup with UConn on Dec. 29, 2016.

- Second-Team All-Big Ten last season.

KT McBUCKETS: Katie McWilliams Quick Hitters
- All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention and Defensive Honorable Mention last season
- Played in her 105th career game on Friday, making her 55th career start.
- Cheryl Miller Award watch list, which recognizes the top-20 small forwards in the nation.
- Led the Beavers with an average of 32.7 minutes per game last season.
- Scored in double-figures in 10 of Oregon State's final 14 games of last season.
- Finished last season 34th in the nation in assist/turnover ratio at 2.36.
- Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team honoree last season, and All-Academic Honorable Mention as a sophomore.
- Shot 45.5 percent from the floor last season, the best percentage for an Oregon State guard on the year.
- Pac-12 Freshman Honorable Mention in 2015-16.
- Went 3-for-3 from 3-point range against UConn in the 2016 Final Four.
- Was the highest ranked recruit in Oregon State history, prior to Mikayla Pivec joining the team in the 2016 recruiting class.
- Earned numerous awards in the state of Oregon during her high school career, including: two All-State honors, Oregon Live Girls Basketball Player of the Year, Oregon Sports Award for Best Prep Basketball Player and Gatorade Oregon Player of the Year.  

PIVEC AND ROLL: Mikayla Pivec Quick Hitters
- All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention last season
- Nearly posted a double-double on Friday, finishing with 15 points and nine rebounds.
- Led the team in minutes (34), points (15) and rebounds (9) on Friday.
- Earned CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honors and Pac-12 All-Academic First Team honors in her sophomore year.
- Shot 45.0 percent from the floor last season.
- Averaged 7.1 rebounds per game, the highest average among guards in the Pac-12.
- Shot 48.2 percent from two-point range on 2017-18 the season.
- Served as Oregon State's starting point guard last season, playing the position for the first time since 7th grade.
- Pac-12 All-Freshman Team in 2016-17.
- Also threw javelin for the Oregon State track team in the spring of 2017, posting the fourth-best mark in OSU history in the event with a throw of 142-4 at the Oregon Twilight Meet.
- Highest-rated signee in Oregon State history prior to Andrea Aquino signing, coming in as the No. 24 player in the nation according to ESPN.
- Won the Washington state-title for the javelin throw in her senior year

GREAT SCOTT: Scott Rueck Quick Hitters 
- Inked a contract extension last offseason that runs through the 2026-27 season.
- 2017 John R. Wooden Pac-12 Coach of the Year, becoming one of five coaches in conference history to win the honor multiple times.
- Record at Oregon State is 180-89  making him the second-winningest coach in Oregon State history. Aki Hill holds the Oregon State wins record with 274.
- Rueck engineered an accelerated turnaround at Oregon State, bringing the program into national prominence during his eight seasons as head coach.
- Prior to joining Oregon State, Rueck served as head coach at George Fox in Newburg, Ore., where he built the program into a Division III national power, winning an NCAA title in 2009.
- Rueck's teams have consistently been known for outstanding defense. The Beavers have allowed 56.4 points per game over the course of his tenure. George Fox allowed just 48.3 points per contest in 2009-10, Rueck's final year there, and set a school record with 45.4 points allowed under Rueck in 2007-08.
- Graduated from Oregon State in 1991.

GET SOME TUDOR-ING: Kat Tudor Quick Hitters
- All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention last season.
- Is seventh in Oregon State history with 142 career 3-ponters, eight behind Alyssa Martin for sixth.
- Is tied with Destiny Slocum for second in the Pac-12 in 3-pointers per game this season.
- Had 44 3-pointers in Pac-12 play in 2017-18, with 32 of them coming in five games (5 vs. Washington, 7 vs Washington State, 6 vs. Arizona, 7 vs. Oregon, 7 at Washington).
- Was 33rd in the nation and sixth in the Pac-12 in 3-point percentage during her sophomore year
- Hit at least five 3-pointers in a game eight times last season.
- Hit seven 3-pointers in a game three times last season, joining Talisa Rhea as the only Oregon State players to hit seven triples in a game three times in their career.
- Exploded for 34 points Jan. 19 vs. Oregon, going 10-for-14 from the floor and 7-for-10 from 3-point range. Her scoring output is tied for the 36th-best single game point total in Oregon State history.
- Made 371 three-pointers in her high-school career
- Helped St. Mary's High School win the 2015 California state title

SAY TAY KID: Taya Corosdale Quick Hitters
- Pac-12 All-Freshman Honorable Mention last season. 
- Scored 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds on Friday.
- Started the final 25 games of her freshman season
- The Beavers are 18-3 in games where Corosdale hits a 3-pointer.
- Jordan Brand Classic All-American in high school.
- Two-time King County League MVP
- Earned a five-star rating from ESPN, and was ranked the No. 6 forward in her signing class.
- Two-time All-State selection in Washington.

#AL3AH: Aleah Goodman Quick Hitters
- Pac-12 All-Freshman Honorable Mention last season
- Her 3-point percentage of 46.2 would have been good for third in the nation last season, if Goodman had reached the NCAA minumum for 3-pointers made (Requirement is two 3-pointers per game played, Goodman had 49 triples in 31 games).
- Played the final game of her high school career at Gill Coliseum, leading La Salle to a state title.
- Two-time Oregon state 5A champion.
- Three-time Oregon 5A Player of the Year
- 2017 McDonalds All-America nominee

GILL COLISEUM: 
- Oregon State has a home record of 61-7 since the start of the 2014-15 season.
- The Beavers have not lost back-to-back home games since falling to Washington and Washington State on Feb. 15 and 18, 2013.
- Oregon State averaged 4,985 fans per game last season, by far the best attendance in the Pac-12. 
- The Beavers are 26-2 in their last 28 Pac-12 home games, and 42-3 in their last 45.
- Opponents are shooting 32.8 percent at Gill Coliseum since the start of the 2013-14 season.
- Seven of the top-10 crowds in Oregon State history have come over the last three seasons, including a record-setting attendance of 9,604 vs. Stanford.

YO JO: Joanna Grymek Quick Hitters
- Made her first career start on Friday, playing 19 minutes
- Had a breakout performance vs. North Carolina Central, going 7-for-7 from the floor to finish with 16 points. She also tallied three blocks in the contest.
- Played two seasons at Seward County Community College
- NJCAA All-American in 2016-17
- Averaged 15.4 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game in her sophomore season at Seward, shooting 62.9 percent from the floor.
- Made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in both of her seasons at Seward.
- Represented Poland in the FIBA U20 European Championships in Spain's Canary Island 

GETTING MADDIE: Madison Washington Quick Hitters
- Made nine starts to start the 2017-18 season
- Notched her first career double-digit scoring performance vs. Utah State on Dec. 2, going 5-for-6 from the floor to finish with 10 points.
- USA Today First Team All-Nevada selection
- Helped Bishop Gorman High School reach the Nevada state title game three times

THROPAY AS YOU GO: Janessa Thropay Quick Hitters
- Matched a career-high with four points in Friday's season-opener.
- Has performed the National Anthem at a number of Oregon State sporting events, including prior to the Beavers' Civil War game on Jan. 19.
- McDonalds All-America nominee her senior season of high school
- First-Team All-California in high school

TRISH 'N' SWISH: Patricia Morris Quick Hitters
- Comes to Oregon State with a four-star rating from Prospects Nation
- Earned All-California honors twice.
- Speaks Mandarin Chinese

GETTING JAZZY: Jasmine Simmons Quick Hitters
- Scored her first career point on Friday, knocking down a free throw.
- Led Australia to a FIBA U-17 World Championship, serving as team captain. She made the All-Star Starting Five at the event.
- Earned a silver medal representing Australia at the 3x3 Championships.
- Was the No. 7 rated international recruit in her signing class.
- Enjoys playing guitar.

STILL AnDREa: Andrea Aquino Quick Hitters
- Joined Oregon State as the No. 7 rated recruit in the nation, the highest rated signee in program history.
- Averaged 17.1 points, 12.2 rebounds and 7.0 blocks per game during her 2016-17 high school season
- Didn't start playing basketball until the age of 15.

IN THE PAC: 
- The Beavers are 62-10 in Pac-12 play since the start of the 2014-15 season, and 71-11 in their last 82 conference games.
- Oregon State has led the Pac-12 in attendance in each of the last four seasons.
- Beaver players have earned nine All-Pac-12 First-Team nods over the last four seasons.
- Head coach Scott Rueck is one of five coaches in Pac-12 history to win the John R. Wooden Coach of the Year Award multiple times.

THE STAFF: Oregon State Assistant Coaches and Support Staff Quick Hitters
- Associate Head Coach Jonas Chatterton enters his fifth season with the Beavers after spending four seasons at Colorado.

- Assistant to the Head Coach Kendall Knotz served as a manager for Oregon State for four seasons before taking on her new role two years ago.
- Associate Athletic Trainer Jason Lieuw (code name @Swiesebaby24) is the longest serving member of the Oregon State staff, currently in his 10th year with the team
