USC, Stanford and UCLA were all in action Sunday in the 2018 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament round of 16. Here's how they fared:

(2) UCLA 5, NC State 0

The Bruins came out firing from the get-go, scoring three goals before hitting the locker room at halftime. Ashley Sanchez connected with Jessie Fleming for the first two of those scores, and it turns out those two assists from Sanchez were a pretty big deal:

UCLA tacked on two more goals in the final 10 minutes of the match, making it the Bruins' third-straight 5-0 victory in the postseason. Next up for the Bruins: (1) North Carolina in the quarterfinals.

(1) Stanford 1, Wisconsin 0

The Badgers took one last shot in the final seconds of the match to threaten the Card's lead, but Stanford came away unscathed at home on Sunday, moving on to the quarterfinals with a 1-0 victory over Wisconsin. Jordan DiBiasi executed a perfectly placed header with about 10 minutes left in the first period to get Stanford on the board, notching her 10th goal on the year.

Here's a look at that score:

The defending national champions are among the eight teams left standing and will play (2) Tennessee in the next round.

(1) Florida State 1, (4) USC 1 (2OT, PKs 5-4)

USC's season ended in heartbreaking fashion in Tallahassee, losing to Florida State in penalty kicks. Penelope Hocking put the Trojans in a great position early on, scoring the only goal of the first half in the 37th minute. The Seminoles took their time to respond, tying it up 20 minutes into the second half with a Dallas Dorosy corner kick conversion. Hocking worked furiously to score in the waning minutes of regulation, coming close on two attempts, but could not get a shot to land.

The game went to penalty kicks after two scoreless overtime periods. All five 'Noles made their attempts, while four of the five Trojans made theirs. USC finishes its season at 17-3-2 while Florida State moves on to the quarterfinals.
