Former Cardinal Leah White has earned a spot on the Israeli National Softball Team

Former Cardinal Leah White (2012-15) has been selected to the Israeli National Softball Team, it was announced on Thursday morning. White and her teammates will compete at the European Championships during the summer of 2019 with an eye on qualifying for the 2020 Olympics.
 
Stacy Iveson, University of Arizona Director of Operations, has been tabbed as the head coach of the team, while Cal Lutheran Head Coach Debby Day and Lisa Bernstein will serve as assistant coaches.
 
A three-time Second Team NFCA All-West Region selection, White hit .336 with 104 RBI, 27 doubles, eight triples and nine home runs over her four years at Stanford. The native of Phoenix, Ariz. led the Cardinal in runs scored as a freshman and sophomore, and finished her career having scored 162 runs to place eighth all-time in program history.
 
White is one of 12 players that make up the first half of the Israeli roster. In order to play for Israel, the players are required to have at least one Jewish parent or grandparent and must travel to Israel to receive dual citizenship.

Stanford recently released its 2019 softball schedule, revealing one of the toughest slates in the country, including an attractive set of 17 home games against 2018 NCAA tournament teams.
