STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – No. 8 Sun Devil Wrestling took an early lead over No. 1 Penn State on their home mat but the Nittany Lions built a large lead going into halftime and sustained the lead, winning 41-3.

The early going started off in the Sun Devils' favor as
Brandon Courtney picked up a 13-7 decision in his first collegiate dual appearance over Penn State's Devin Schnupp to give ASU a 3-0 lead.

The Nittany Lions then picked up four straight victories, three bonus point wins, taking a 17-3 lead into halftime. Pennsylvania native
Josh Maruca, the No. 11 149-pounder nearly earned a victory over No. 12 Brady Berge but ultimately fell by decision, 5-4. Â

Penn State picked up four more bonus point victories after the break, earning the dual victory.
