Ducks Close 2018 at No. 9 in AVCA Poll

12/17/18 | Women's Volleyball

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon volleyball team earned its highest end-of-season ranking since 2012 on Monday afternoon, coming in at No. 9 in the final coaches poll of 2018 by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

After capping a historic season with their first Elite Eight appearance since 2012, the Ducks received their highest ranking of the year and first top-10 ranking since reaching No. 8 on Sept. 18, 2017.

It is just the fourth end-of-season top-10 ranking in program history, and first since Oregon was No. 2 in the final 2012 poll. UO was also No. 9 to close the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

The Ducks are one of six Pac-12 teams in the final AVCA top 25, behind only No. 1 Stanford, which won its eighth national championship.
