Pac-12 announces Wrestler of the Week

Feb 13, 2019

Dominic Ducharme, CSU Bakersfield
(R-So., 184 - Windsor, Calif.)
• Defeated #19 Jackson Hemauer of Fresno State 3-2 in tiebreaker scoring to help CSU Bakersfield knock off the #25 Bulldogs 18-12 at the Feud on the Field.
• Ducharme escaped Hemauer to lead 3-2 in the first half of the tie breaker portion. Starting on top to start the next 30 seconds, Ducharme rode out Hemauer to clinch the 3-2 decision. Neither wrestler recorded a takedown in the tightly contested match as each competitor received a penalty point and escaped control in regulation.
• The victory was Ducharme's first over a wrestler ranked in the top 20 this season. The public administration major has a record of 19-11 this season.

Also nominated: Josh Shields (165), Arizona State (currently ranked No. 5 in the nation, earned a 7-3 decision over No. 14 Connor Flynn of Missouri); Requir van der Merwe (149), Stanford (Only Cardinal to pick up two wins last weekend as he posted a 6-1 decision over Purdue’s Parker Filius and a 3-1 decision against Indiana’s Fernie Silva).
