The Utes are geared up for the 2019 season with returning all-stars on both offense and defense. The big announcement of the spring was the return of four junior standouts Bradlee Anae, Julian Blackmon, Leki Fotu and Zack Moss, who all decided to return to Utah instead of declare for the NFL draft.

With spring practice starting in March, the Utes are already getting some preseason love from the media, earning a spot on football expert Brett McMurphy's top-10 preseason team, as well as a No. 18 ranking in the ESPN Football Power Index.

Head coach Kyle Whittingham is entering his 15th year at the helm, holding a 120-61 overall record as the longest tenured coach in the Pac-12 and the third-longest tenured head coach at the same school in the NCAA FBS.

The Utes are coming off a 2018 season where they won their first outright Pac-12 South Division title and appeared in the Pac-12 Championship game for the first time in program history.
