TEMPE, Ariz. – Over the next two weekends at the beginning and end of Arizona State's Spring Break, several current and future members of the three-time reigning Sun Devil triathlon team will compete in elite races including the Clermont Draft Legal Challenge (Mar. 2-3) in Clermont, Fla. and the Sarasota-Bradenton Triathlon (Mar. 9-10) in Sarasota, Fla.
Competing in the CAMTRI Elite race (Mar. 2/11 am ET) in Clermont will be
Charlotte Ahrens,
Hannah Henry,
Kyla Roy,
Rebecca Naughton,
Sarah Quintero,
Audrey Ernst,
Kira Stanley,
Katie Gorczyca and future Sun Devil and three-time Israeli Junior National Champion Gal Rubanenko, who signed her NLI in November.
Kenzi Wilson and
Catherine Giuseffi will compete in the U25 Elite Development Race on Sunday, Mar. 3 at 10 am ET.
The following weekend (Mar. 9), Ahrens, Roy, Naughton, Quintero, Ernst, Rubanenko, and Gorczyca will compete in the CAMTRI Elite race in Sarasota while Stanley and
Olivia Jenks will compete in the CAMTRI Junior Elite race.
A significant part of the competitions include allowing the Sun Devils to accumulate early season ITU (International Triathlon Union) world ranking classification points for national team criteria and team selection.
