SEATTLE – In its last out-of-state road trip of the regular season, California was determined to make a statement as it utilized the opportunity to simulate post season competition.

The Golden Bears should feel enthusiastic about the approaching championship part of the schedule after Sunday's results, where they downed Washington in Seattle with a season-high 405.500 team score.

To add to the excitement, Darren Wong pulled in a collegiate-best 82.700 to take the all-around title.

"We're very happy with today performance," said assistant coach Mark Freeman. "The team had a job to do and, on the whole, we did what we needed to do with a season high to boot.

"I'm proud of them and the way the represented Cal well. We want to keep that ball rolling heading into the second half of the season."

Wong's performance was highlighted by a trio of career bests on floor (14.550), rings (13.500) and high bar (13.500).

Senior Aaron Mah added four meet titles of his own in the rings (13.800), parallel bars (14.000), high bar (14.250) and shared the floor win (14.700) with season bests in all but the parallel bar to lift the team to its second 400-plus score of the year.

The Bears pulled in season best on floor (70.350) and rings (67.950) to get their first outright meet title of the year and move to 4-8 on the season.

Cal will not compete this week, but return to action on March 23 at 6 p.m. (PT) for the final home meet of the season when they take on the reigning national champion Oklahoma Sooners.
