Pac-12 announces tennis players of the week

Pac-12 Men's Tennis Player of the Week: Maxime Cressy, Sr., UCLA (Hermosa Beach, Calif.)
• Nationally ranked Cressy helped No. 20 UCLA open Pac-12 play with a 4-2 road win over No. 41 Utah with victories on the No. 1 singles and doubles courts.
• Earned his first-career win over a nationally ranked opponent with a straight-sets result over Utah’s No. 64 Dan Little, 6-4, 6-1. He improved his season singles record to 5-1.
• Teamed with Connor Rapp to establish momentum in doubles play, beating the Utes duo, 6-1, on the top court. Cressy is undefeated in doubles play this year with nine victories.
• The senior studying mathematics/economics is a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic selection, earning second team honors in 2018 and honorable mention in 2017. He earns his fourth-career Pac-12 Player of the Week honor, previously winning three times last season, and the 40th all-time for the Bruins.

Pac-12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week: Lauryn John-Baptiste, So., Arizona State (London, England)
• Totaled a 4-0 record in singles and doubles matches to open Pac-12 play in narrow losses against a pair of top-15 teams in No. 6 UCLA, 4-2, and No. 14 USC, 4-3.
• In doubles, the national No. 6 duo of John-Baptiste and Ilze Hattingh defeated two ranked duos on the first court in No. 16 Elysia Bolton/Jada Hart of UCLA (7-5) and No. 13 Angela Kulikov/Rianna Valdes of USC (6-2).
• In the No. 2 singles spot, she upset No. 10 ranked Bolton of UCLA in three sets (3-6, 6-4, 6-2), then swept USC's Valdes, 6-4, 6-2.
• The sophomore earned first-team All-America honors last year after advancing to the quarterfinal round at the NCAA Doubles Championships. This marks her third-career Pac-12 Player of the Week honor, previously winning the award twice as a freshman, and the 16th all-time for the Sun Devils.
