Utah Diving Finishes Day Two of NCAA Zones

Chen qualifies for second event at NCAA Championships

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The Utah diving teams wrapped up two more events at the NCAA Zone E Diving Regionals with Tony Chen turning in another solid performance.

"We had some ups and downs today but Tony did exactly what he needed to do and qualified to dive in the 3-meter event at the NCAA Championships," diving coach Richard Marschner said. "I am looking forward to Rylan and Daniel competing on tower tomorrow as the NCAA spots are really up for grabs."

Coming off a great performance yesterday in the 1-meter, Chen entered the finals of the 3-meter today in third place. Unfortunately, he slipped back to eighth overall with a total score of 658.05 but still managed to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Rylan Little took 20th as the other Ute in action.

On the women's side, Clare Greenlow and Emma Ruchala finished 31st and 33rd respectively in the 1-meter events.

Both teams will have competitors in the third and final event, platform, tomorrow.
