Postseason play begins this week for Pac-12 Men's Basketball quartet

#PAC12HOOPS STARTING FIVE:
3 - Three Pac-12 teams earned bids to the 2019 NCAA Tournament:
- ARIZONA STATE: No. 11 seed in West Regional, 16th all-time appearance
- OREGON: No. 12 seed in South Regional, 16th all-time appearance, 1939 NCAA champions, 2017 Final Four
- WASHINGTON: No. 9 seed in Midwest Regional, 17th all-time appearance, 1953 Final Four
4 - Four Pac-12 teams earned postseason berths in total as COLORADO was an at-large selection for the 2019 National Invitation Tournament.
- It marks the 11th NIT appearance for Colorado, which won the 1940 NIT and is 12-9 overall in the event.
1, 2, 3, 4 - OREGON became only the second team in Pac-12 Tournament history to win four games in four days on its way to the Conference tournament title, joining Colorado in 2012.
- The Ducks are the first program to knock off the tournament’s top three seeds - No. 1 seed Washington (68-48), No. 2 seed Arizona State (79-75 OT), No. 3 seed Utah (66-54) - en route to the Conference’s tourney title and automatic bid.
1-of-6 - OREGON’s Payton Pritchard became the sixth player to earn Pac-12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player accolades after not making a postseason All-Conference team.
- Pritchard averaged 16.3 points, 5.5 assists (22 assts/4 to), 3.8 rebounds, 2.0 steals and was a tournament-best +60 when on the floor.
- Pritchard joined Brandon Ashley, ARIZ (2015); Johnathan Loyd, ORE (2013); DeMar DeRozan, USC (2009); Tajuan Porter, ORE (2007); Matt Muehlebach, ARIZ (1990).
322... - WASHINGTON’s Matisse Thybulle, among four finalists for Naismith Trophy Defensive Player of the Year, has 322 career steals, the most in Pac-12 history and 26th-most in NCAA Division I history.
- Thybulle has 117 steals this season, the most in a season in Conference history and 19th-most in a season in NCAA Division I history.
- Thybulle is the only D-I player in the top 50 nationally in both steals (1st, 3.44) and blocks (20th, 2.26).
- Since 1992-93, Thybulle is the only NCAA Division I player with multiple 100-steal/40-block seasons and the only player with 300+ steals and 150+ blocks in a career.
PAC-12 TIPOFF:
HUSKIES HISTORY: Pac-12 regular-season champion WASHINGTON became the first team to sweep the Conference’s Player (Jaylen Nowell), Defensive Player (Matisse Thybulle) and Coach (Mike Hopkins) of the Year awards in the same season.
- Thybulle became just the second player to repeat as the league’s Defensive Player of the Year along with OREGON STATE’s Gary Payton II (2015, 2016).
- Hopkins became the first in Conference history to garner Coach of the Year honors in each of his first two years with a school.
DEVILS DANCING BACK-TO-BACK: ARIZONA STATE snapped a 38-year drought of consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances with a second straight at-large berth. ASU last repeated in 1980- 81.
- It snapped the fifth-longest streak among major conference programs without consecutive appearances (Northwestern, TCU, Penn State, Rutgers).
DEFENSIVE DUCKS: OREGON enters the NCAA Tournament on an eight-game win streak, tied as the longest of any major conference program in the country along with SEC champion Auburn.
- During their eight-game win streak, the Ducks are allowing just 54.3 points per game.
- During the Pac-12 Tournament, the Ducks allowed just 57.0 points per game including a Championship game record-low 48 against Washington.
