TUCSON, Ariz. –Washington State men's golf finished in a three-way tie for 10th Tuesday in the National Invitational Tournament (N.I.T.) hosted by Arizona at the Omni Tucson National Golf Club at Tucson, Ariz.
"What matters most to me is for us to feel like we got better each week," head coach
Dustin White said. "We did improve from Bandon, but still have some work to do."
The Cougars stayed steady in 10th throughout the tournament, with a score of 867 (+3), putting them in a tie with UTEP and North Texas, just one stroke in front of Utah (+4, 868) in 13th, and 13 strokes ahead of Colorado (+16, 880) in 14th. No. 4 Arizona State also held first throughout the three rounds of competition, shooting an 814 (-50). USC (-29, 835) held its second place position, with No. 5 Oklahoma (-28, 836) just one stroke behind in third.
The remaining ranked teams are No. 42 Iowa State (-24, 840) in fifth, No. 32 UNLV (-20, 844) in seventh and tournament host No. 49 Arizona (-15, 849) in eighth.

AJ Armstrong all tied for 41st, shooting on par with three-round scores of 216. Senior
Grant Cole (+5, 221) was just five strokes behind in a tie 59th. Junior
Scott Redelsperger (+8, 224) tied for 66th.
"It was good to have some guys with under par rounds," White said. "It shows more aggressiveness and the ability to capitalize on good shots."
No. 50 Alex del Rey (-17, 199) of Arizona State jumped two spots in the third round to take home the tournament victory. He bumped No.3 Justin Suh (-16, 200) of USC down to second. Won Jun Lee of Arizona State finished in third after shooting a 201 (-15) throughout the tournament.
The Cougars will return to the green Monday through Tuesday, March 25-26 for the Duck Invitational at Eugene, Ore., for one of their two remaining tournaments before the Pac-12 Championships in late April.
