San Diego, Calif. – Saturday saw the conclusion of the Aztec Invitational for the Cats in San Diego. The day was highlighted by
Karolina Pahlitzsch, who clocked a PR and top-10 NCAA time in the 400-meter dash.
Top-10
Pahlitzsch clocked a time of 53.83 in the 400-meter dash to set a new PR in the event. She finished first overall and set the No. 2 mark in the Pac-12 Conference and the No. 8 mark on the NCAA list.
Shannon Meisberger followed with a time of 54.42 to finish fourth.
Fight Until The End
On his final throw, sophomore
Jordan Geist threw a mark of 54.24m (177-11) to win the discus throw. In the ladies shot put,
Megan Dulaney took fourth with a mark of 14.70m (48-2.75).
Amarissa Hawker followed with a toss of 14.52m (47-7.75) to finish fifth.
Summerset Gets the Win
Justice Summerset finished first in the high jump with a clearance of 2.16m (7-1). On the ladies side,
Diana Ramos took third in the high jump with a clearance of 1.72m (5-7.75).
Tiana Poirier-Shelton took third in the long jump with a leap of 5.94m (19-6) and
Mohammad Almarhoun took third in the men's long jump contest.
Ladies Relay Clocks Season-Best
The ladies 4x400-meter relay team of
Tatum Waggoner, Meisberger,
Neysia Howard, and Pahlizsch clocked a season-best time of 3:38.10 to win the event. The squad's time is good for the No. 7 mark on the NCAA list and is No. 1 mark on the Pac-12 list.
