Soccer Recruiting Class Ranked No. 17

04/03/19 | Women's Soccer

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon's 2019 recruiting class has been ranked No. 17 nationally by Top Drawer Soccer. It is the first top-20 ranking for the Ducks' soccer program, and two of the signees will be on hand for Oregon's spring training camp, which kicks into high gear with a closed scrimmage against the Portland Thorns FC on Saturday.

Oregon's 2019 class includes two players ranked in the top 100 nationally, as well as two highly-regarded international players. Midfielder Sakura Yashida from Redmond, Wash., is the No. 66 recruit nationally according to Top Drawer, while forward Ally Cook (Coto de Caza, Calif.) is ranked No. 92.

Top Drawer also recognized international signees Maya Hahn, a forward from New Zealand, and Caitlin Shaw, a midfielder from British Columbia, as potential impact players for the Ducks.

"The Pac-12 program has 10 additions confirmed for this year. While it's mostly domestic, if their international additions of Hahn (New Zealand) and Shaw (Canada) pay off, it could be big news for the next four years," wrote Top Drawer.

The other six players in the class are Hailey Coll (Goalkeeper, Eugene, Ore.), Maggie Lacey (Midfielder, Central Point, Ore.), Lilli Rask (Forward, Tustin, Colo.), Jordan Snyder (Defender, Mercer Island, Wash.), Croix Soto (Defender, Pasadena, Calif.) and Sofia Vinas (Midfielder, Calabasas, Calif.).

Hahn and Soto are enrolled for the spring term and are currently training with the Ducks in preparation for Saturday's scrimmage with the Thorns.

The rest of the spring slate features four home matches at Pape' Field which are open to the public: Seattle Pacific (April 13, 4:30 p.m.), Western Oregon (April 18, 7 p.m.), Portland State (May 4, 6 p.m.) and Oregon State (May 11, 5 p.m.).

Penn State had the nation's top-ranked recruiting class. Other Pac-12 teams ranked in the top 25 included No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 USC, No. 10 California, No. 13 Stanford and No. 23 Arizona State.
