TUCSON, Ariz. -- Nine Wildcats -- five men and four women -- were named first-team Pac-12 all-academic, as announced by the conference this week. Overall, 25 Arizona swimmers and divers were recognized for their combined academic and athletic performances this season.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and participate in at least half of their team's scheduled regular season events.
"I am ecstatic to have over half of my team on the Pac-12 AA team" notes Head Coach
Augie Busch.  "It speaks to their dedication to their own class work and desire to have the whole team lead the Athletics Department in GPA. I believe it also shows the current state of our team culture with academics at the forefront of our priorities. In so many ways, this is truly a special group of young men and women."
