No. 20 Stanford hosts No. 7 Cal Poly and No. 11 California on Saturday

STANFORD, Calif. – No. 20 Stanford will conclude its regular season at home this Saturday with matches against No. 7 Cal Poly and No. 11 California. The Cardinal will also be celebrating Senior Day, honoring its lone senior leader, Courtney Bowen

Stanford (10-14) will begin the afternoon with a 1 p.m. matchup between Cal Poly. The Mustangs came away with a 3-2 victory last April in the most recent meeting.

At 4 p.m., the Cardinal will take on rival California for the third time this season. Stanford has dropped a pair of 3-2 decisions to the Golden Bears.

Prior to its match against California, the Cardinal will recognize Bowen in a Senior Day ceremony. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Bowen has made a lasting impact as one of the most accomplished players in program history, even more impressive considering she first started playing the sport three years ago as a freshman.

Despite missing the last month and a half due to injury, Bowen remains Stanford's all-time individual wins leader with 49 career victories. Named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team as a junior, Bowen produced a program single-season record 23 of those wins last season. An intimidating presence at net, Bowen was the recipient of the Best Blocker award at the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic back in February, teaming with Tori Ashkinos for a pair of victories.

Equally accomplished in the classroom, Bowen is a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic selection and boasts a 3.65 cumulative GPA as an Economics major with a human biology minor.

A member of the indoor volleyball team, Bowen was also a member of the Cardinal's 2016 and 2018 NCAA championship squads, in addition to capturing a pair of Pac-12 titles along the way.
