2019 PAC-12 TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS CENTRAL

OJAI, Calif. - For the first time in the event's three-year team tournament history, the Pac-12 Women's Tennis Championship semifinals will feature the top-4 seeds as No. 1 Stanford, No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 Washington and No. 4 USC advanced through the quarterfinals at Weil Tennis Academy on Thursday.

The Cardinal will meet the Trojans in Friday's first semifinal at 12 p.m., followed by the Bruins versus the Huskies at approximately 3 p.m.

No. 4 USC 4, No. 5 California 1

No. 15 nationally ranked and fourth-seeded USC (18-6) advanced to the semifinals for the second time in the tournament's three-year history by rolling past No. 5 seed and No. 16 ranked California (12-8), 4-1.

The Trojans responded from a Court 3 doubles loss with triumphs on Nos. 1 and 2 courts to secure the initial point.

Angela Kulikov and Dani Willson were dual winners for USC, highlighted by Willson's clinching 7-6 (4), 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles.

No. 1 Stanford 4, No. 9 Washington State 0

No. 9 seed Washington State (19-10) gave two-time defending tournament champion and reigning NCAA national titlist Stanford (20-1) all it could handle, but the top-seeded and No. 5 nationally ranked Cardinal still prevailed via a 4-0 sweep.

WSU took the first doubles match and pushed Stanford to a tiebreak in the decisive No. 2 match, but Emily Arbuthnott and Michaela Gordon came through with a clutch 9-7 clincher for the Cardinal. Stanford then got straight-sets victories from Caroline Lampl, Janice Shin and Emma Higuchi on courts 3, 5 and 6, respectively, to continue its quest for a tourney three-peat and a fourth consecutive Conference title.

The victory marked Stanford's 15th consecutive overall and kept the Cardinal perfect against Conference opponents this season (12-0) including 3-0 with three sweeps against the Cougars.

No. 2 UCLA 4, No. 10 Arizona 0

No. 9 nationally ranked UCLA (17-6) breezed through to its second straight semifinals appearance with a 4-0 sweep of Arizona (12-12).

The Bruins didn't drop a set to the Wildcats, highlighted by Elysia Bolton not losing a game in her No. 2 doubles match with partner Jada Hart, 6-0, and No. 2 singles match, 6-0, 6-0.

No. 3 Washington 4, No. 6 Arizona State 0

No. 11 nationally ranked Washington (19-3) earned its first Pac-12 Championship semifinal appearance with a 4-0 shutout of sixth-seeded Arizona State (13-10) in the nightcap.

The Huskies took the doubles point thanks to a thrilling come-from-behind victory from the No. 1 pair of Stacey Fung and Nika Zupancic, who erased a 5-3 deficit to post an 8-6 tiebreak triumph over the nation's top-ranked tandem of Lauryn John-Baptiste and Ilze Hattingh.

Natsuho Arakawa and Vanessa Wong put UW up 3-0 with straight-sets victories on Courts 4 and 2, and Nika Zupancic closed out the match with a 6-3, 7-6 (7) tiebreak win at No. 6.
