SAN FRANCISCO - The 2019 USA Basketball Women's 3x3 National Championship will be held at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center this weekend, May 3-4. The tournament is comprised of 13 teams representing top NCAA Division I programs, three squads that qualified out of 3x3 tournaments over the past year and two teams that will be decided after a two-day minicamp prior to the tournament.

The Pac-12 will be represented by three league members, including defending USA 3x3 National Championship gold medalist OREGON, ARIZONA STATE and STANFORD. Two Pac-12 alumni will compete on the LA Dream Team featuring Rebekah Gardner from UCLA and Brittany Wilson from Colorado. Oregon State’s Aleah Goodman and Destiny Slocum, and UCLA’s Michaela Onyenwere were three of eight athletes who were accepted by USA Basketball to compete in a two-day minicamp, which will determine who play on the final two teams.

Stanford will be represented by Lacie Hull, Lexie Hull, Estella Moschkau and Anna Wilson. Arizona State’s squad consists of Jamie Loera, Reili Richardson, Robbi Ryan and Jayde Vanhyfte. Oregon will compete with three members of last year’s team that won gold with Otiona Gildon, Ruthy Hebard and Sabrina Ionescu and the newest addition of Lydia Giomi.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held for the first time outdoors at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas. Preliminary games start on Friday and continue through Saturday before teams are seeded by record for eliminations rounds. The women's championship game will tip off at 10 p.m. on Saturday night. The tournament serves as the 2019 USA Basketball Women's 3x3 National Team trials and for selections to the 2019 USA Women's 2019 U.S. Pan American Games 3x3 Basketball Team.

In addition to the lure of a national championship, the event also will serve as the 2019 USA Basketball Women’s 3x3 National Team trials, as all eligible athletes will be in consideration for selection to the 2019 USA Women’s 2019 U.S. Pan American Games 3x3 Basketball Team.

Last year, Oregon’s four-man team of Erin Boley, Otiona Gildon, Ruthy Hebard and Sabrina Ionescu went undefeated (8-0) to claim the 2018 USA Basketball Women's 3x3 National Championship. The four Ducks went on to compete at the 3x3 World Cup for Team USA where they finished fifth with a 4-1 record after defeating Russia, Uganda, Iran and Andorra in Group C and falling to Italy in the quarterfinals.
