UCLA junior goalkeeper Teagan Micah has been named to Australia's Women's World Cup team.
Micah, a three-year Bruin starter, ranks fourth on UCLA's all-time lists for career wins (46), career saves (199) and career shutouts (26). In 2018, she posted a 0.74 goals against average with eight shutouts and a 12-1-2 record. During her sophomore season in 2017, she led the nation in goalkeeper minutes played with 2268 and helped the Bruins advance to the NCAA Championship game by making a save in the penalty kick shootout against Duke in the NCAA semifinals. As a freshman, Micah was selected to the Top Drawer Soccer Freshman Best XI first team and played in every minute of every game. She recorded 93 saves during the year, the second-most in UCLA history. Micah is a six-time winner of the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week award.
Micah earned her first full national team call-up in August of 2017 for the final match of the Tournament of Nations and impressed during a second call-up for the USA-Australia game in Colorado this past April.
Five Bruins have been selected to 2019 Women's World Cup rosters so far - Micah, Abby Dahlkemper (U.S.), Sam Mewis (U.S.), Mal Pugh (U.S.) and Rosie White (New Zealand).
Australia is in Group C with Italy, Brazil and Jamaica and will open Women's World Cup play on June 9 against the Italian side before facing Brazil on June 13 and Jamaica on June 18.
