SAN FRANCISCO, Calif – Sun Devil men's tennis'
Tim Ruehl and
Andrea Bolla have been named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team as announced by the conference this morning. The nod is the first for the two in their first season of eligibility for the award.

Playing together as one of the Sun Devils' most dominant doubles pairs, the sophomores have excelled on the court as well as in the classroom as student-athletes at Arizona State.

Ruehl, who is in his second year studying Sports Business at the W.P. Carey School of Business, currently holds a team-high 3.89 GPA. The German has earned Dean's List in every semester at ASU and scholar-baller honors en route to his first-team selection this season.

Most notably on the tennis court, Ruehl went a perfect 2-0 against ranked opponents in singles play while also clinching a huge ASU victory over No. 31 Cal at the Oracle Collegiate Challenge.

Bolla represented the Sun Devils on the second-team, majoring in Spanish with a 3.63 GPA. The pair experienced huge success as a doubles tandem this season, battling to the quarterfinals of the ITA Fall National Championship late last year. The pair went undefeated (7-0) in conference play, finishing their 2019 campaign with a dominant 10-1 run together.

The Italian was crucial in the Sun Devils' best postseason finish since 2004, as he clinched the Sun Devil victory over No. 33 Miami to propel ASU into the second round. Bolla also finished the season strong in singles play, taking victories of six of his last seven matches to round out his second season as a Sun Devil.

Dominik Kellovsky will jet to Orlando to take part in the 2019 NCAA Doubles National Championship.

The pair were one of 32 tandems selection to take part in the championships conducted May 20-25 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida, after the conclusion of the team championship. Fans can keep up with the action all postseason-long by following @SunDevilMTennis on Twitter.
