Hockey Releases 2019-20 Schedule

TEMPE, Ariz. --- Sun Devil Hockey announced its schedule for the 2019-20 season Tuesday morning, which features five 2019 NCAA Tournament teams, a Midwest Regional rematch against Quinnipiac, a home series with 2019 Frozen Four participant Denver, and a two-game series in Anaheim.

Six opponents either finished within the top-20 or were ranked within the USCHO poll at some point during the season, while an additional five received votes at some point during 2018-19.

"The 2019-20 season brings new challenges for us and we look forward to another incredibly competitive schedule, especially with new teams for our fans to enjoy seeing us play at home," said head coach Greg Powers. "We are excited to build off of the tremendous foundation we laid last season and can't wait to get started."

The season kicks off at home Oct. 5-6 as the Sun Devils host Mercyhurst before the team heads out for their first road trip of the season with the first-ever visit to Mankato to face Minnesota State in a rematch of the 2018 Desert Hockey Classic consolation game.

ASU's tournament rematch with Quinnipiac comes to Tempe in November followed by Denver in the first week of December. They will also host the winners of the inaugural 2015 Desert Hockey Classic Tournament, Michigan Tech, along with Vermont, Robert Morris, RIT and Alaska-Anchorage in Tempe.

For the first time since 1999, a men's Division I hockey game will be played in Anaheim, as the Sun Devils and Harvard clash for a two-game series after Christmas at the new FivePoint Arena in Irvine -- practice facility of the Anaheim Ducks.

In the first month of the season, the Sun Devils will be away for three-straight weeks with road trips to Mankato, Air Force and Michigan State. ASU will also make pit stops at Alaska-Fairbanks, Omaha, Holy Cross, Bentley and Wisconsin. They will also be paying a visit to the 2018 Desert Hockey Classic Tournament winner, Clarkson, in Potsdam, NY in late January.

Fans can follow the Sun Devils in the offseason on Twitter and Instagram at @SunDevilHockey, and fans can renew their season tickets between now and Thursday, May 30 for the 2019-20 season.

New season ticket deposits are currently sold out, however fans can join the waitlist by contacting the Sun Devil Ticket Office at 480-727-3518. Single game tickets go on sale Sept. 5.
