STANFORD, Calif. - Boosted by a league-high three first-team selections, Stanford women's lacrosse led the conference with 19 Pac-12 All-Academic honorees, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
Every eligible Cardinal made the team. Junior
Kira Lopes (management science and engineering), junior
Mikaela Watson (product design) and sophomore
Katherine Gjertsen (undeclared) earned first team recognition. This is the second career honor for Watson who was a second-team honoree last year.
Stanford also led the league with five second-team recipients, including sophomore
Ali Baiocco (undeclared), senior
Areta Buness (biology), sophomore
Emma Knaus (undeclared), junior
Jacie Lemos (human biology) and senior
Julia Massaro (management science and engineering).

Student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA and play in at least half of the team's games. Freshmen are not eligible.
This is the second straight year Stanford has led the conference with the most academic honorees. The Cardinal also had 18 selected in the league's inaugural year in 2018.
Stanford finished the 2019 campaign at 13-6 overall and 7-3 in the Pac-12 play. The Cardinal, which reached the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in 10 seasons, has now won at least 12 games in all but one of the 11 years under head coach
Amy Bokker.
