TEMPE, Ariz. – Gabby Andrews, Elysia Bolton and Ayan Broomfield have been announced as ITA Southwest Region award winners, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Saturday.

Andrews was selected as the Most Improved Senior, Bolton was picked as Rookie of the Year and Broomfield earned the Senior Player of the Year award. National award winners will be announced Sunday. Broomfield previously earned the ITA Carolina Region Rookie of the Year honor before transferring from Clemson, while Andrews and Bolton became first-time honorees.

A transfer from Tyler Junior College in 2016, Andrews posted a career-high 14 singles victories this season. The Pomona, Calif. native and team captain won seven of her last eight matches as a pivotal piece for the NCAA quarterfinalist Bruins. She has also teamed with Broomfield in a career-year doubles performance for each player. The pair currently sits at No. 4 in the Division I rankings—a high for each—and won the ITA Southwest Regional Championships doubles title. The duo has already earned All-America status from ITA. Andrews has already tied her personal career high for doubles victories with 23.

Already the Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Year, Bolton added another accolade to her debut campaign. Playing exclusively out of the top two spots in the singles lineup, Bolton went 16-8 in dual matches and has racked up a team-high 26 singles wins overall. A First-Team All-Pac-12 selection, Bolton earned was named Pac-12 Player of the Week on Feb. 5 after going 4-0 on her first-career road trip. She also had a standout fall, reaching quarterfinal rounds at Oracle ITA Masters and the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships. For good measure, Bolton has teamed with Jada Hart to go 31-9 in doubles action and has reached No. 11 in the ITA rankings. The Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y. native made the top 10 of the singles list on March 5.

In addition to her doubles success with Andrews, Broomfield shined in singles play. The Bruins' No. 3 player for a majority of the dual-match season, the Toronto native went 18-11 during the fall and spring schedules. A transfer from Clemson in 2017, Broomfield achieved All-America status for the first time and has piled up 22 doubles wins with three partners. The team captain also received All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention recognition.

Each of the three honorees will pick up the tournament portion of her schedule as they vie for the singles and doubles titles at the NCAA Championships in Orlando, Fla. Play will begin Monday, May 20 and run through Friday, May 25. Andrews-Broomfield and Bolton-Hart are part of the doubles draw, while Bolton is in the singles draw with Hart.
