SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Alyssa Wilson PR'ed in the discus by over 12 feet, and the UCLA track & field program collected five more spots in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday during day two of the West Preliminaries.

UCLA will now compete in 10 events in Austin, adding five more on Friday that included the women's discus (Wilson), men's javelin (Simon Litzell), men's discus (Dotun Ogundeji), women's pole vault (Elleyse Garrett) and women's 400m (Meleni Rodney).

On her second attempt in the second flight, Wilson posted a huge PR of 60.76m (199-4), an improvement by over 12 feet. She moved to No. 4 all-time in program history and became just the sixth Bruin in program history to reach 60 meters.

Also in the early afternoon session, Litzell registered an effort of 68.09m (223-4) on his second attempt in the third flight of the javelin, helping him place seventh overall and muster his third trip to nationals.

Ogundeji opened up the evening session with a first-place finish in the discus. He was the lone competitor to reach 60 meters, tallying 60.31m (197-10).

Fighting for the final spot in the women's pole vault, Garrett came in clutch. She cleared 4.27m (14-0) to place fifth in the first flight and 12th overall and punch her first-career trip to nationals.

Rodney continued her success in the 400m after getting past the first round on Thursday. She finished Friday's quarterfinal round in 52.09, helping the senior to a fourth-place finish.

Senior AK Turner capped his UCLA career in the javelin, placing 15th with an effort of 65.99m (216-6).
