SEATTLE  – For the third consecutive year, the #3 Washington Huskies booked their ticket to the Women's College World Series, sweeping the #14 Kentucky Wildcats in Super Regionals with tonight's 5-0 victory. This is Washington's 14
th WCWS trip in program history and seventh under
Heather Tarr.
Washington continued its early scoring streak, scoring in the first inning for the fifth consecutive game. That one run was all
Gabbie Plain and the Husky defense needed to secure Washington a WCWS trip. Plain earned her tenth postseason win in just her 12
th postseason game. The sophomore allowed just two hits and one walk. Not a single Wildcat reached scoring position all game long.
The Huskies broke through offensively later in the game but threatened all night long, putting runners in scoring position in five of seven innings. Washington added insurance runs in both the sixth and seventh thanks to clutch hits by
Noelle Hee and
Taryn Atlee.
Morganne Flores reached base three times, with two hits and a walk, while
Emma Helm drew three walks in her four plate appearances.

- First Inning: Flores doubled to the left-center gap, then took advantage of some unfortunate Kentucky throws to score on the same play. An overthrow going into second allowed Flores to reach third, then the throw to third bounced out of play to let her score.
- Sixth Inning: Hee came through with a clutch pinch-hit home run, bringing in two insurance runs with an opposite-field blast.
- Seventh Inning: With the bases loaded and two down, Atlee sent a liner to center to score two, making it a 5-0 game.

- Plain (7.0 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 8 K) set a new career best with a 31.2 IP scoreless streak, besting her mark of 29 shutout innings set this March.
- Flores (2x3, R, 2B) extended her hitting streak to nine games, with eight runs, six extra-base hits, and 13 RBI in that time.
- Helm (0x1, R, 3 BB) has reached base multiple times in three of the last four games.
- Reynolds (1x4, R) has hits in six of her last seven games and three straight.

The Huskies have advanced to the WCWS, which will take place next week.
