Pac-12 Men's Basketball seeks to maintain momentum from strong opening week

Nov 12, 2019

.947 - Pac-12 Men’s Basketball’s .947 non-conference winning percentage (18-1) through the opening week of the 2019-20 season is the second-best of any league in the country, trailing only the Big East (18-0).
• Includes the Pac-12 China Game non-conference matchup between Colorado and Arizona State.

2 - UTAH’s Both Gach (12p/10r/10a) and Rylan Jones (10p/10r/11a) became the first teammates in Pac-12 history to record triple-doubles in the same game Nov. 8 versus Mississippi Valley. They are the first NCAA Division I duo to accomplish  the feat in Stats Perform’s database dating to 1996-97.
• Jones became just the second freshman in Pac-12 history to record a triple-double (Jelani McCoy, UCLA vs. Maryland, 12/9/95 - 15p/10r/11b)

3-0 - The Pac-12 posted a 3-0 mark versus opponents from other major conferences on opening week as WASHINGTON upset then #16 Baylor, OREGON STATE topped Iowa State and ARIZONA rolled past Illinois. The league totaled seven  such victories during the 2018-19 regular season.

4 - The Pac-12 boasts four AP Top 25 teams this week, tied for the most of any conference in the country.
• The four ranked programs are the most for the league since Jan. 9, 2017 - a span of 50 polls.
• Colorado appears in the AP poll for the first time since Jan. 13, 2014.

94 - UTAH’s 94-point margin of victory against Mississippi Valley (143-49) on Nov. 8 marked the largest against a Division I opponent in NCAA history.
• The Utes’ 143 points established a new program record for points in a game.
