Oregon clinches Pac-12 North
SAN FRANCISCO—The OREGON Ducks will represent the Pac-12 North Division in the ninth annual Pac-12 Football Championship Game on Friday, December 6, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
Oregon entered Saturday’s play controlling its own destiny in the North Division race, needing either one win or Oregon State to drop one game over the final three weekends of the regular season.
Oregon State was going to make the Ducks earn their North Division title as it held off Arizona State, 35-34, earlier in the day.
Oregon proceeded to defeat Arizona, 34-6, Saturday night and clinched its third trip to the Pac-12 Football Championship Game.
Oregon is currently No. 6 in the CFP rankings and will conclude the regular season with a road game at Arizona State (Sat., Nov. 23) and at home against Oregon State in the Civil War (Sat., Nov. 30).
The Ducks will meet the winner of the South Division, which is still up for grabs between UTAH (6-1 in Pac-12 play) and USC (6-2 in Pac-12 play). The Utes, currently No. 7 in the CFP rankings, control their own destiny for the South Division crown. Utah has games remaining at Arizona (Sat., Nov. 23) and home against Colorado (Sat., Nov. 30), while USC hosts UCLA (Sat., Nov. 23). Should Utah and USC finished tied atop the South Division standings, the Trojans own the tiebreaker based on their head-to-head meeting (USC defeated Utah, 30-23 on Fri., Sept. 20).
The Pac-12 Football Championship Game will be televised by ABC at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET.
