Pac-12 finds 32 names announced in NFL Draft

SAN FRANCISCO – The Pac-12 Conference had 32 players selected in the 2020 NFL Draft, highlighted by OREGON quarterback Justin Herbert who was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers with the sixth pick in the first round.

Herbert, the 2019 Campbell Trophy winner, becomes the sixth Oregon quarterback selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. He joins Marcus Mariota (No. 2, 2015), Joey Harrington (No.3, 2002), Akili Smith (No. 3, 1999), Chris Miller (No. 13, 1987) and George Shaw (No. 1, 1955). The Pac-12 leads all conferences with 39 quarterbacks selected in the first round all-time, followed by the SEC (31) and the ACC (20).

For the 10th consecutive NFL Draft, the Pac-12 had at least three players selected in the first round. Joining Herbert were USC OT Austin Jackson, who was the 18th player taken in the first round by the Miami Dolphins, and ARIZONA STATE WR Brandon Aiyuk selected by the San Francisco 49ers with the 25th pick.

Pac-12/NFL Draft Notes:
• 30 or more players selected for the sixth consecutive draft.
• Three or more Pac-12 players were selected in each round.
• Wide receivers were the popular Pac-12 selection with five.
• Utah had the most Pac-12 players selected (7), including a record four picks in the first three rounds.
• Ten Pac-12 teams had two or more players selected.
• Of the 32 picks, 19 were offensive players, 13 were defensive players.
• Pac-12 was third among all conferences with 32 selections, trailing only the 14-team SEC (64) and Big Ten (14) conferences.
